Our Story

Whispering Grove has been part of our family for more than 126 years. The story of the property is closely connected to our family's relationship with coffee and the land.

Our father, Mr. Poonacha, started the coffee plantation, together with Mrs. Rena Poonacha, whose strength and determination remain an important part of our family history.

I was born and brought up here in 1982. This place was not simply where we lived. It was where we grew up.

The estate became our playground. The trees became familiar landmarks. The seasons became part of our calendar. And the home became the place where family gathered.

After completing my MBA in Mysore, life took me into the corporate world. I met my partner in Mysore and we married in 2008.

Together, we have spent more than two decades experiencing corporate life while raising our family. My wife continues to work with a private bank and is also passionate about Yoga and Marathon running. Our two children are growing up and pursuing their schooling.

Over the years, we realised that one of the things we value most is the slower way of life we experienced here. That is the feeling we want Whispering Grove to share with our guests.

Not a manufactured resort experience. Not a hurried holiday. But a chance to experience a small part of life in our home, surrounded by coffee, nature, food and family.
